Hey guys.

Wondering if anyone knows a solution for this one. Have just recently done the dreaded reformat and am reinstalling everything again. When I start flightsim, the box with the spinning plane is all black, but I can load into the game and everything seems fine, however when I exit the game, the screen flickers a bit, then exits, then it gets really weird.

The system locks up and my whole screen is like some pixelated fractal image of my desktop, really messed up, cant see anything to click, but then since its locked I couldn't click anyways, I have to hold down the power button and crash out to get going again after the reboot.

I'm using Windows XP, P4 2.8 processor, 1Gb DDR Ram, G-Force FX5200 128Mb graphics

Have reinstalled both the game and teh graphics card and tried older and the latest drivers but makes little difference, the problem occurs regardless. Everything was fine before hte format.

Cheers

Fortunately I do know the solution, as this exact same thing happened to me. I also have the G-Force FX5200 video card.

All you need to do is update your video card driver. Easy peasy: www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

And also- don't listen to the tutorials that tell you to switch off your anti-analysing in the sim and off on your card because our old FX5200's can't handle that :(

Also, as nVIDIA no longer make the FX520, you will need the windows XP update which fixes all the latest games (including fs9) available here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-2k_archive.html

H guys, thanks for the advice, however tho I had tried it with the old V7 drivers aswell as the new V9.1.3.1 drivers available now. Neither of which helped.

However good news tho, a second reformat and the V7 drivers are holding on ok, tried the V9.1.3.1 again and it locked up, driver roll back fixed that so am stuck with the old drivers by the looks of it

Will try and locate a download of the version prior to 9.1.3.1 tho.

Thanks for the replies

***UPDATE***

Problem seems to be linked to Anti Aliasing. If I turn it on on the card, and off in FS, theres th problem, hwoever by turning it of on the card and letting FS handle it, it's working.

Have actually installed a new graphics card now and the same thing was happening. Now to try and get FS over its AA hangup and do as it's told because I would rather let the card handle it. the AA in FS aint exactly top shelf stuff...

Cheers again everyone for your suggestions.
