Service pack 1 unavailable

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

I am reinstalling on my computer after a few problems. But when I go to get service pack 1 from Microsoft I get the dread 404 error (page not found).

Anybody know why? Can I get it reliably from somewhere else?
CPU - AMD 3000+ 64 bit
Video Card - Nvidia 7600GT.
Ram - 1 Gb.
OS - WIN XP
FS Version - FSX

Taurus , end of the day looks MS has given up with d/load updates , i best use the 'Acceleration' package and saves all the drama of d/loads and SPs , this also give you many further options for other addons .

The rumour is that MS are stopping support for FSX, but I'm not sure if this is a sign of that or not -- has anyone contacted MS and asked them?
Rather than getting into 'alternative' sources, which are not really what we are here for, I'll just say that a simple Google search (FSX SP1) will get you a download.

I tried to activate FSX over the phone, got told sorry we no longer support FSX. He emailed me http://flyawaysimulation.com/news/3811/fli...on-support-faq/ or

I did a fresh install of FSX+Acceleration just a few weeks ago. My attempt to register failed. I followed the Microsoft resolution which was to install as "admiistrator". It registered with no problems.

FSX SP1, SP1a, and SP2 are available from the Avsim Library. Do a search for Service Pack 1 and filter by date.
