Is it normal to have a scenery.cfg file in the app data/roaming location as well as the root of the FS9 folder? If so why is it doubled up?

FWIW in my XP setup, the equivalent is this:
"C:\Documents and Settings\Charl\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9\scenery.cfg"
Also the FS9.cfg resides there.
I imagine these are used to reconstruct "Last good configuration" after a crash.
And a whole raft of aircraft folders I never noticed!
"C:\Documents and Settings\Charl\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9\AIRCRAFT\ALPHA C-17 Globemaster III\state.CFG" shows that I have over 22 hours on this one.Ooh wait I could open all 2,683 folders and add up all the logged time to see how much... nevermind
