Im trying to add another IDE Hdd to my computer. Problem is, I just cant get it to work!
If I remove the cable from my CD drive and plug it into the hdd, then neither of the hard drives i have can be found in the bios. If I put another cable from the IDE2 plug into my HD, it still doesnt seem to be able to find it. I have the jumper set to Master, and I have it plugged into the top plug on the cable. What am I doing wrong?

if i can see correctly from pics, you're already running one IDE disk, not a SATA? if so, both hard disks should be on the same IDE 1 cable, and the CD Drive should be the only disk on IDE 2.
also you might want to move the hard disks down to in front of the fan to keep them cool.

i seem to have everything right, with the slave master and all that. It still doesnt show up in the bios though, and I have both the plugs in correctly. I know the harddrive is spinning because you can hear it and feel it vibrating, but it just doesnt show up in the bios. Maybe a bios update?

you could always get a adaptor to usb cable that just plugs any hard drive into the front or back ports about 25 bucks from dse

that won't be as fast as if it's plugged straight into the computer tho.
maybe try putting the jumpers to CS (cable select)?

does it work if you just plug the new hard disk in by itself?
