If 2012's supposed to be our last year on Earth (no, I don't believe it ), then I thought I'd better build a new PC.....otherwise I'd never know if I could run an Orbx airport with my NGX at an enjoyable frame rate

Whats that cooling arrangement on the CPU? Are those ducts running out to some external cooler wotsit?

Thanks Dean, if was easy enough build and I've learnt a few things from the other 3 (only 1 was mine) that I've done incl. thinking ahead about the cables.

Yeah it's the Corsair H100 a 240mm radiator sits on top ( inside) the case. Best seen in pic #6, but 2 fans go on the bottom of that afterward.

I'm not too sure if it's as efficient as some air cooling setups, but it sure looks clean.

It's a lot quieter too!

I like the fact that the connectors on the vid card are on top - I had to perform some 'case surgery' when installing the already long radeon 5850 card and it wasnt helped by having the connectors on the end of the card!

I haven't the stomach to get an exact total, but probably about 2,700 NZD

I saved some by buying some stuff on the 15% off Boxing day Playtech sale, and also saved $75 on the SSD from Amazon.com
I definitely recommend you buy at least the RAM from the States, you'll save half what you pay here (even after $20 shipping from USA)

But you can save $250 by leaving the SSD out for a stater....save $200 if you drop back to a GTX 570 etc....

I probably would have preferred the power plugs at the end of the card, rather than on top.... but there's no window so who cares?

Nice clean build Nick It helps having a decent size case, the last desktop build I did I foolishly (in hindsight) choose a small ATX case (smaller = better right?) because I didn't want a large cumbersome case......however, since my graphics card in that is due for replacement (the joys of living in a salty environment: Rust and corrosion on my card which took out 2 resistors!) im finding that some cards will be too long to fit

Yeah, I didn't realise how big the case would be, it was advertised as a mid tower.....it's not that big
