I recently finished my small simulator which is made of a fuselage of an old VICTA AIRTOURER.

Instruments form SIMKITS, 40 " LCD and other goodies.

That is one thing i have always wanted to do. How much do you reckon it will cost in total once its finished?

Hi fellas

Fisrt - thank you for your kind words - really pushing me forward...


Since I have 2 projects here - I need to know which one are you referring to...


Anyway - for the Cessna like instruments nowadays we have 3 good companies - all in Europe


SIMKITS - Very good products indeed - very dear (yep - the Euro kills us all) - cheaper then the others (I think) - they sell kits you need to assemble yourself. Using servos. now they transform to USB - so you do not neee a central PC board. They are the only company I know making yoke, rudders, throttles and so on. They have the great avionic package - lots of $$$ though. They have also Cessna like panels - very dear - I have a much cheaper option with very high quality panels - watch the "announcement" section - I will post there soon.

FLIGHT ILLUSION - using stepper motors, instruments ready to go - need a PC card - very smooth movement, daisy chained -

SEAGULL - I heard some very good reviews - have no experience with them - stepper motors , daisy chaned, need PC boeard


Have seen some good deals for SIMKITS instruments in Aussie - Go to SIMKITS delaers location you will see the addresses there

Nah... Don't give me too much credit

I cleaned the garage and moved all my staff to the other part, and yes... I put my wife's car outside. So I have a 3 door garage - one has the 737- one the Cessna like, and one for tools... I guess a SHED will be more appropriate..


The Victa was last operating at Taranaki Flying School. (as far as I know) Then somehow it got to a friend of mine - he actually owns it - I built it (and flying it too, but sh.... don't tell) The Aircraft reg number was ZK-CDO - so we gave the sim the same number.

The Airtourer was used for training but it was a "weird" cockpit - square stick, 2 throttles - one at each side etc. So we made it more "Cessna like" - cause most people feel more at home with a 172.

What do mean weird, awesome machine. Very comfortable to fly, very strong sound aircraft.
As long as the donkey is over 150 hp you have a dream machine.
