On my new computer Prepar3D fails to start,HELP!

Postby Eagleeye » Fri Jul 01, 2016 11:48 am

Thought I would post this message on NZFF as well as Prepar3D forum.
I have just loaded Prepar3D v3 on my computer today. I was disappointed with the result! I was able to activate it OK via the recommended internet connection. However soon as I tried to start it up I got a ‘Fatal error’ warning and the program had to close. I researched it on the web and tried a few fixes with no resolution to my problem.
I have Prepar3D v3 on a separate SSD from my ‘C’ drive M.2 SSD. My system is built around an Intel i7-6700k CPU, 32G of DDR4 RAM, OS is Win10 64bit, video card is an ASUS GTX970.
I checked the error out via the ‘Event viewer’ and the results are attached. Can anyone help with a solution as in this area I am at a loss to interpret the results.

Well I hope this move to Prepar3D was a good one as my Win10 64bit system wouldn't even load FSX. I have lots of Robin Corns NZ software and I can't wait to see how it looks on P3D.

Well I am a lot happier now, I think I have found the problem. I discovered that the Prepar3D .exe file had been added to the exclusions list automatically it seems on by 'Bit Defender Internet Sercurity'. This was after it was detected trying to change a file?? I removed it from the exclusions list and its now loading fine.
