Modifying aircraft.cfg in Vista

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

Hi guys

Trying to get into installing repaints in my Vista installation of FS9, and it says for EVERY SINGLE ONE that "access is denied", so I can't change the bloody cfgs! Any ideas?

You obviously don't have permission to access the file tongue.gif

They say UAC has a mind of its own tongue.gif

I don't have Vista, so can't post a tutorial on how to fix this sorry, I suggest you either logon as Administrator, or disable UAC tongue.gif

Or... just click "save" instead of "save as"

you have to allow the account permossion to overwrite the document i just right clicked on the main flight sim x/9 folder and clicked propities then go security and select the accout you are useing (not the administratores accont) then click edit the allow full control then click apply and you should be right

this could take awhile to apply the settings depending on the size that its changing if you want to do a quicker way just do this to the aircraft cfg you are wanting to edit
