My solution for hesitations in fs2004

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

For some time I have been frustrated with the fact that despite reasonable system specs, a steady frame rate (fixed at 25) and no stutters, I consistently experienced intermittant hesitations in all aspects of flight.
After doing a reninstall and checking the operation after each addon I found the culprit, Pete Dowson's
"Autosave."
Removed this and Wow!!!!!! smooth flight, the best I have experienced.
Just thought I would pass this on.

Interesting. I am having similar problems. How did you go about isolating that program as the culprit?.

I did a complete reinstall and progressively loaded addons testing after each one. I had no problems until I loaded autosave then the hesitations. Deleted the autosave.dll and config files and all OK. I have since loaded all NZ sceneries with no return of the hesitations. The hesitations must be the result of the progressive saving of the files by autosave.

Of course!! Thanks for this! I've been having the same problem. FPS never dipping, but still great big hesitations in my game play. I'll try this as well when I get home from holiday. Thank you!

Thanks for that. I am not sure what Autosave is so I guess I don't have that program and that will not be my problem. All the same I think I am looking at
a reinstall of FS9.

I also have VOZ installed. Could this be causing FS9 to stutter?.
