Hello all,
Pick up my new computer tomorrow. Is there anyone else out there that runs Vista 64bit OS? If so what Headset and Joystick do you use?
Haven't been on VATSIM for about 4 months , so hanging out for it!!!!

I just hope you can find some decent drivers! My experiment with Vista64 lasted less than a day... Dodgy video (nVidia) drivers... nothing for sound, mobo etc...

I may have to revisit soon, so I can use all 4gigs of RAM properly...

Also, do they have a 64bit executable for FS9 and or FSX?

I run a E6700 0/c to 3.30ghz on an ASUS P5B, 8 GB RAM (64 a must for this) and a 8800GTX. FSX runs great on this.
Just a few points however.

1) the X-FI and Vista 64 are a pig. Make sure you D/L the latest drivers from Creative. You may find now and then the PC boots up without any sound (weird I know), but a re-boot normally fixes this.

2) Make sure the MB is running the newet BIOS ... important for multi cores

3) D/L the Microsoft Hotfixes ... these may not be available through the normal Windows update. Refer to either AVSIM or FS Insider for the links

4) Obviously D/L the latest nVidia drivers .... however dodge the beta version.

No prob with Nvidia , Creative Sound Blaster drivers. Found Joystick and Headset drivers last night on internet. FSX is totally Vista compliant.

Now i just have to wait for Squawk Box to put out a FSX version.
