I have recently installed an XFX Nvidia 6800GT video card.I am aware from past experiences that the latest drivers are not necessarily the best. Has anyone had success with a particular version for this card.

As you say there are sometimes better drivers realeased before the lastest ones ,but truely i think that it depends on what you find personally on your pc ,i found sometime that 89. set was one that i could always count on but then 93. was ok too ,but its really trial and error and what suits your system ..

As Creator2003 said, the other thing is the newest drivers are also optimised for the latest big game release as well, notice each time a big game comes out (last one was Bioshock, which I handle the techsupport for here in NZ) both nVidia and ATI release drivers that have been tweaked to suit this game.

I usually update, as the drivers are released (don't touch the beta drivers myself) as I usually have a good play with the newer titles that come out.

I read a post in Avsim from a chap who had a similar card and problem to mine. He tried Omega drivers 16692 and was pleased with the results. I have now installed the same. Problems solved. FS9 runs as smooth as a nut.
Many thanks for your input,
regards Richard.
