Hi,
I notice that the link to the VLC Freeware Download seems to take me to a very old version of VLC... I am wanting to use the P3D4 airports available from the Godzone site - ie. NZCH, NZDN, NZNS. I note in the zip file for these airports that they reference a VLC 1.52 version. Also the version available from this link will only work if there is an installed path for P3Dv3 or lower in the System Registry.
Are you able to point me please the a version of VLC that is usable for P3Dv4 (preferably 1.51 or 1.52).
Many thanks
Michael

Michael, the requirements for Godzone/Real NZ scenery don't refer to VLC, just the VectorLandclass Libraries, which are really the only part of VLC which is still maintained. Installing any current Real NZ scenery product will automatically install or update the VLC Libraries to the required version. (NZCH installs the latest version.)

So, is this why my VLC Configurator (v1.031) is so buggy (I have had to resort to manually adding/removing the relevant .bgls for things like Urban Lights and windbreaks)?
If that's the case I too would like to know where to d/l a more recent version ...

Dorian -- you have the latest version, the version numbers that Michael refers to are the VLC Libraries installer. I continue to update these for use with Godzone/Real NZ scenery, although VLC itself is no longer supported and hasn't been for some time. I'm not aware of anyone else currently using the VLC Libraries, although these have always been available for NZ developers for free.

Many thanks for the quick response.. it clarifies for me too. I am pleased to have now been able to install both NZNS and NZDN with version 1.52 of the VLC libraries which were, as you said, updated during the install process. I clearly needed to read the instructions provided as it jumped out at me after your prompting response.
cheers
Michael
