At Omaka recently the public was invited to a Tiger/Nanchang syndicate open day and I friend of mine bought his mum along and although not a keen aviator she was drawn to the Nanchang and spent 30 minutes talking to the pilot and my friend decided a good 50th birthday present would be a ride in a Nanchang so he asked if I could organize it which was no problem.
Seeing the flight would celebrate a majoy milesone in ones life I offered to take some air 2 air photos as well.
Al Marshall was to fly the Chang, Tim Sullivan flew the Cessna 172 camera plane.
This was a surprise flight sprung on her at the last minute and she loved it.
We took a few photos and I cut the section short as we had what we needed and I didnt want to eat into her joyride time.
It just so happened that we had her other son in the back of the 172 and he enjoyed the flight, even with a perfectly good door missing.
Just goes to show how much people appreciate the guys that bring these aircraft into the country and fly them for the pleasure of others.
We had a lot of fun in the cameraship as well and as I dont take photos to make money who cares what it costs.
A photo with a thrilled passenger grinning away makes it all worth while.
Lots of fun and thanks again Al and Tim.
