Just been doing some island hopping by air around the Cape Verde Islands (between Africa and South America) and spotted a few unusual aircraft around.

and a Czech L410, which looks like a cross between an ATR42 and a Twin Otter:-

Angola Airlines with their 737 700 scheduled service from Luanda (nice paint job on this one as well):-

and the domestic flights, handled by ATR42 of TACV:-

and domestic flights also handled by the new domestic airline, Halyconair, again with ATR42 s:-

and an executive jet, parked for a week:-

smooth landings.

Very Cool pictures!! Much editing done there?

I really do like the one with the ATRs, the blue sky matches very well! Keep it up!

That Angola Airlines 737 looks like a 60's - 70's kitchen!

Secret of the photos is the camera, which although old, is still producing excellent photos. The camera is a Panasonic FZ30, now well worn, with the colour saturation settings on high, and also a polarising filter used. Some early morning flights helped to get the lovely light on the shots as well. Sharp photos thanks to the Leica lens, which is one of the reasons that I bought the camera. Second Panasonic, and very happy with them (apart from the well know low light limitations), and replaced a Canon D350 with the FZ30. I am getting MUCH better photos from the Panasonic than I did with the Canon D350 (even after upgrading the lenses on it). Fast start up time means that it is great for grabbing shots as well, and with a 420mm equivalent lens, has a great telephoto ability as well. It will soldier on for another year at least.

Pleased that you like the photos!!

smooth landings.

Had a couple of weeks spare, so got a last minute charter flight there! Not a pleasant experience being squashed for nearly 8 hours and subjected to constant sales pressure to buy duty free and drinks. Makes AirNZ look very polished.

smooth landings.
