A Few Shots From DC-3 Scenic Flight

Had an awesome time on the Southern DC-3 today on a fundraising scenic flight around Wellington. Dad had a fly of -AMY for the first time in about 7 years so he had a great time as well. We took off on 34, and travelling low and slow (500-1000ft) flew over Eastbourne, the Hutt, over the hills to Pauatahanui, Porirua, Johnsonville, Karori, the CBD and Newtown before landing again on 34. Here are a few pics (I let the guy sitting next to me have the window from Eastbourne so didn't get too many shots).

The DC-3 looks good in its new (?) scheme - thanks for posting - must get me a ride in one, one day.

Don't go to Europe for a ride in a DC-3 - they have had to phase the remaniing ones out as the new EC rules requires them to be equipped with escape slides, oxygen masks and weather radar!

Because lots of people have been killed in DC-3 crashes caused by a lack of those alterations..

Yeah..5,000ft cruise altitude (Oxygen??) exit about 1m off the ground (Escape Slide???)
And the thing flies under the weather...
Well we complain about red tape but others have it and then some.

wow, last time i saw that aircraft it was grounded due to a brokeded engine (around the same time last year that the cessna flipped on the runway)

I have a video of the takeoff on my phone, but unfortunately she doesn't sound nearly as good as from outside so not really worth converting and posting.
