As promised, a few more photos from outside at the Aviodrome in Lelystad, Netherlands. Whilst all the simming was going on inside, this is a taste of what was outside. Interesting mixture of aircraft, with flights being offered in the Catalina. Managed to get most of them during the few sunny periods of the day.

The fuselage section that is visibe in the next photo is a Nimrod display:-

The interior of this Anatov AN2 was rather like a metal shearer shed:-

Smooth landings.

Love that first shot - there really was nothing else quite like it, was there?
Must've been a pig to build that fuselage, no two stringers alike!

Great photos , very complex aircraft , hull being made in 1948 , amazing watching the startup ritual and the flames licking from the exhaust smile.gif

Not like putting a plug into a tube liner either ..... going from 95ft or the 649/749 series to 113ft off the 1049 , i love the way the open a operational aircraft to the public , its own little hardstand and access fence to the stairs to let you in , i don't no why , on board the Connie in OZ , her guardians thought i was spy clicking probing .... probing looking in and under thing and looking outta thing s , stopping a returning time and time again . ninja.gif biggrin.gif

It's hard to beat the Dutch for hospitality. When I lived in the UK, I made frequent volleyballing trips to the Netherlands - they practically threw their daughters at you! Later on, I went to two flight sim multiplayer events - primarily for Flanker - and I'm still in touch with the friends I made there. The events were incredibly well organised and the Dutch were *so generous*. Amazingly, they (the Dutch) say there's nobody as mean as a Dutchman, but I haven't met a mean one yet! That said, I haven't met an un-generous Scotsman either.

Beautiful pics, BTW!!
