These photos taken by my dad while waiting for his flight in the departure lounge at SYD, heading back to AKL. The aircraft are using runway 25 in Sydney (the east-west runway). As its the shorter runway, the heavier (longer distance) aircraft are using the longer runways to depart yet still a few jumbos using this runway for departure.
Taken on 1 July 06, between 1pm and 3pm local time.
Air Pacific 747-400 leaves behind a United 747-400

United 747-400 taxies into position (what a dreadful livery)

Virgin Atlantic A340-600 (look how long it is!)

Virgin Blue 737-800 (thanks, Alex
)

Singapore Airlines Cargo 747-400 Freighter

Malaysian 747-400 pulling back from the terminal
(note the label below the door. I can't make out what it says, some sort of Caution notice)

And the tiny A320 is dwarfed by the Austrian 777-200ER parked at the gate. Yes sadly, this tiny pressurised aluminum tube is your flight home.
