I was recently visiting Europe (specifically, Italy and Greece) as part of my school classical studies course. I took a few aviation themed photos while I was there. These are from the flight we did from Rome Fiumicino airport to Athens Eleftherios Venizelos Int'l. I also took some photos of aircraft at a military museum in Athens; those I'll post later. This flight was on 9A-CBC, a McDonnell-Douglas MD-82 owned by Croatian airline Air Adriatic, and named "My Dream". Here's a recent photo of it at London Luton airport, from Airliners.net. This was my first time flying on an MD-80, so I was quite happy to have the experience.

Now for my photos. I didn't have my 350D with me, only a Canon Powershot, so the quailty isn't that wonderful. Also excuse the dots on some pictures; the window I was shooting through wasn't totally clean.
The safety card.

The cabin, before departure. Notice that the cockpit doors are open; quite unusual nowadays.

Baggage being loaded while an Itali Air MD-80 taxis past.

Just after takeoff.

There is an aircraft on approach to that runway, but unfortunately you can't see it in this photo. (this is where I wished I had my other camera!
) Quite unusual now that I think about it to have an aircraft approaching a runway on an intersection with the departure runway.

Over the Mediterranean, note the cargo ship.

Over the Italian coast, having made a 180 degree turn over the Mediterranean west of Italy.

Quite menacing looking clouds to the south.

The rest of the shots are of the arrival over Greece and approach to the airport. It was quite windy, which some people found rather uncomfortable; personally I enjoy it.
The actual touchdown was commendably smooth though, given how much we were rocking back and forth on the approach.

Hope you enjoyed! Comments are welcome.
