Chris snapped this rare visitor today ...filthy weather, but I think he did well.

Does Chris spot any unusual aircraft activity to bring Women World Cup 2023 teams to New Zealand?

A nice shot from Chris SP. I’m not sure if it’s the same aircraft but one of those has been buzzing in and out of Whenuapai over recent days. A bit quieter than the usual Herc. I guess it’s the J series?

Thanks Marty (Out with scale and slide rule, computing contrail spacing, speed, and the age of the pilot :))
Haven't heard this one up here, maybe it's in Stealth Mode?

Thanks for looking team. Chris literally got off a bus and ran to get those shots, hence a little out of focus....but a true spotter.
Charl, you also have to take the 6 bladed props into consideration, as it is a J model. Air temperature was about 8-9c in light rain and a southwest wind.

CP, it is the one you saw, he was doing something out of Whenuapai...HC-130J.

Aharon, the only unusual visitor so far has been the ANA 787-8. But later this week, I think, the US Secretary of State is visiting NZ. It's an official visit, but he will be watching one of the U.S. team's games.
Im guesing he will be useing a C-40 or C-32 into Welligton. Im not sure if Chris has plans to go up there or not.

Splitpin,

Thanks for answers. I think he will be using 757 for that.

Naki,

Thanks for answer. I am surprised that ERJ-190 can carry entire Dutch team!! I thought the Dutch team and support staff as well as coaches plus equipment would require larger plane!!

Deeknow,

How do you like Feelthere ERJs so far? I have Feelthere ERJs too and it has extremely slow speed climb problem as if the engines are underpowered.

Hey Aharon. I'm loving it thanks. The VC and systems seem pretty nicely modelled, sounds are OK (was thinking of grabbing a the TSS sound pack if it comes on sale some in the future), and frame-rates seem decent. Handling wise I haven't really tuned into it enough to notice climb performance, I guess you could tune that out with an AIR file tweak? Main gripe I had originally was getting a proper cold and dark startup so what I do now is start flights in a default aircraft, turn all systems off on that and then switch to the Feelthere ERJ and good to go. Also I wish there was an ERJv2 model w the bigger turbo-fans but I dont see that coming any time soon.

Once I settle in on MSFS I'll definitely grab the FSS model but for now am really happy w Feelthere on P3D, mainly coz I have a LOT of scenery for Brazil, and Japan, USA, Poland, Russia and various countries in Europe and central Asia where they are still used a lot.

Unless I am mistaken, I believe FeelThere ERJ jets are already now in version 3. I have version 2.

Maybe you mean E190 E2 (ERJ 190-300), E195 E2 (EJR 190-400) and E175 E2 (ERJ 190-500)???? If so, it is available on various retail flight sim websites where VirtualCol is offering this package of those mentioned planes for FSX and P3D.

Sorry, I'm referring to the v2 model of the aircraft itself, the newer one as modelled by Virtuacol but not available from Feelthere...

Yeah That is what I thought as I stated "Maybe you mean E190 E2 (ERJ 190-300), E195 E2 (EJR 190-400) and E175 E2 (ERJ 190-500)???? If so, it is available on various retail flight sim websites where VirtualCol is offering this package of those mentioned planes for FSX and P3D."

The VirtualCol model base is not so bad and when it is on sale, it is worth lousy 9 bucks or 3 bucks per model base in the package that offers three different E2 model bases which is cheaper than a cup of coffee from Starbucks. That is why I bought for lousy 9 bucks those planes A220, Saab 340/Saab 2000 package, and Dash 8 package consisted of 4 different model bases.

Yeah Im aware of the Virtualcol model of course, that's why I mentioned it (in fact I think we've had this conversation before?). External modelling looks good but their downfall is usually the VC/panel area, I've had a few of their products in the past and the panels are usually ghastly. Can't find any detailed video reviews of their P3D model for the EJet 2, do you know of any or have any more feedback on how the panel/VC compares to the Feelthere model?

I have not bought E2 jets yet but VirtualCol is VirtualCol meaning it will look GREAT in screenshots for exterior appearance but you are right about VirtualCol being famous for what you say in your own words "ghasty cockpits"

HEY for lousy 3 or 9 bucks, it is worth to buy VirtualCol planes considering the fact you are not going to make 45 screenshots out of only cockpit panel anyway since 43 out of 45 screenshots will be focused on exterior appearance and 2 screenshots will be focused on cockpit panel.

Best reviews in case you cannot find in computer magazines or flight sim forums can be found on youtube showing videos of any VirtualCol plane that you wish to purchase.

So far, I bought A220, Saab 340, Saab 2000, and Dash 8 package from VirtualCol. Do not want to buy E2 jets because I have seen screenshots and videos of jet engines for FSX use meaning I would not know quality for P3D. I believe on quality of exterior appearance of jet engines for sake of screenshot taking.

3 buck per plane in package or 9 buck per plane when on sale who cares about lousy cockpit panels smiling

A rather unusual attitude for such a low altitude.

Splitpin,

As I predicted, US Secretary of State Blinken used 757 for New Zealand visit as seen on the accompanying photo that a photographer had given me permission to show his photo to you.

Deeknow,

You can see in this latest photo showing parked E2
