My nephew Chris had a couple of days in the big A last week, if we had some of those colour schemes down here, I would be out there every day.

Nice !!! poor old ZK-TLE looks a little dreary in its all-white livery huh?
Am starting to warm to the A350s I must admit, that 1000 from Cathay is quite a thing

Great photos!!!!!!

Surprised to see high hills in background in the NZAA runway 23left photo. I got to fire up my FSX and see if it is same thing in FSX because I do not remember seeing high hills behind runway 23left in my FSX.

Great post! We have been seeing air traffic picking up lately now you mention it.
In the last couple of years a jet passing overhead was something of a rarity.

Aharon the plane is taking off on 05R so you are looking southwest over the Manakau Harbour, toward the Manakau Heads.

Also caught my eye... amazing it is within a whisker of a B777-300E in every respect.
But it seems so much skinnier even though it's only 230mm or so.

Darn I was fooled by taxiway sign saying 23left runway!!! Why would they put that sign when they should put taxiway sign that says 23l/05R????

Now I have to go back to start FSX to see if there are high hills behind runway 05R

Sadly all of the 737 classics now look dreary. No pride from the owners at all :(

Couldn't really make a thread for this, so just idly:
Driving north on the Hibiscus Coast, I noticed a contrail.
Starting at the horizon, and growing toward me at quite a pace!
Aircraft are usually letting down below 10,000ft. around there, so unusual to see.
By the time I'd found a spot to pull off, he'd passed me already so I lost the horizon shot.
Whipped out Flight Radar to see it was headed for CHCH, which explained the altitude... but not the route.
