Texan Night Circuits

So I have recently moved to Sanson and find myself living just uphill of the finals point for runway 27.

The Texans were doing some night circuits so I snapped some somewhat blurry snaps off my deck. Will endeavor to get some better shots if I'm home when they do some day stuff.

Any pointers for shooting moving aircraft at night? Currently using P with a slight under exposure to improve colours for pretty much all my photography ever (Canon EOS500D).

Kingair just roared overhead on a right base turning finals. Plenty of notice, and heaps of light so much better results :P

Very close indeed! And in the flight path for the prevailing wind. Doesn't bother me though :D

Twas the same with me growing up in the Wigram area right from dot one .. Harvards Devons Daks Vampires Strikemasters and Bristol Freighters and even a regular visit from the RAAF Caribou .. part and parcel but unfortunate some dull eye'd dipstick called it a day and killed it .
