I was up in Wellington last week and stopped by the airport. Not a very nice day (cold and windy) but still managed to get some photos followed by a most pleasant cup of coffee at a little place near Owhiro Bay.

Nice Shots Greg cool.gif , have they move the old aero club rooms yet ? ... something they had planned quite a few years back as plane spotters restaurant or haven .

Greg, you went to Wellie hoping for a nice sunny, calm day?
Happens to me all the time... laugh.gif

Great shots - that King Air certainly dipping a wing to the Nor-Easter.
Hard to believe it comes from the same stable as the beetle-browed one below!

The Caravan shots are an interesting reference to how good the Caranado model is...

Ian, the old club is up and running as a cafe/restaurant now on the corner overlooking Lyall Bay. It's been done quite well, was packed when I had lunch there a couple of weeks back. Will be nicer when the buzz dies down a bit and you can have a relaxing drink or lunch without the frantic staff and cues out the door...!

Dave, be worth a trip up there just to check it out, I'd want to wait till Welly has one off those famous windy days .. every time I have arrived there its always been relatively calm !

Yeah, sunny calm weather was too much to hope for wasn't it. Still it was worthwhile and we had a bit of fun. I rather like the King air so good to see one out and about during my brief stop near the airport.

Agreed. We were going to have lunch there after the photography session but it was really much too busy so we went on the a quieter, more relaxing atmosphere.
