Good pics. Isnt it sad that none of the aircraft in the Pacific theatre are painted in kiwi colours, even though three of the four actually are RNZAF machines.

Agree totally but only its two of the four...the P-40N Currawong is in its genuine RAAF scheme..the Avenger is slightly different than the ones in RNZAF service and is presumably an ex US Navy example but it is going to be repainted in RNZAF colours soon (as it was when this example was in NZ a few years ago). Hopefully the other P-40 and the Corsair will revert to RNZAF colours one day...at least they are here and flying

I stand corrected, I thought the Avenger was a genuine RNZAF one. I saw the Corsair in the UK many years ago and it was painted in the RNZAF colours. I dont understand why its taking so long to repaint it now that its here. The P40 used to be painted as a NZ one and it still has the RNZAF serial number. Weird huh?

I think the P-40E is painted in scheme for a film IIRC...Ive just read the RAAF P-40N (Currawong) has RNZAF P-40 wings so you could call that part RNZAF

Awesome set of photos there James, great framing on all the shots and they all capture the moment well. You had a great vantage point. Good to see nice, tight cropping as well so that the subject is large in a lot of the photos.
Looking forward to seeing your other photos.
smooth landings.

Top Rate album.
That first Albatross shot, taxiing, is a contest winner.
Well done indeed.
