... between the showers, comfortably before sunset but it was still black as the inside of a cow, and while I was wondering what gods you have to sacrifice the chickens to in order to get some decent light, I grabbed these ...

I haven't touched the exposures except on 6, this is how it was this afternoon ... My poor P&S did a wonderful job. Nothing photo comp quality, but better than last time. Or maybe that was me tongue.gif

4 - I changed something in the settings here - it seemed to make a difference ...

5 - shooting against a bright-ish part of the sky helped too ...

Good on you for getting out there and taking photos on a less than ideal day.
Am sure you learnt a lot and once you can master a good shot on an average day, things become a lot easier.

Quite like the first 767 shot.

You should enter one on that competition.
Afterall its the work and dedication one puts into taking a good photos that will surely count towards the final result.

Thanks Gavin, that means a lot coming from you.

These two sessions out in the Puhinui Rd carpark have been quite a learning curve. I can take a tolerable speedway or rally shot, but planes is something completely new and the techniques are very different to motorsport.

I shall enter the first 777 shot in the comp forthwith !

Thanks
Gary

Cool shoots Gary clapping.gif
Challenging situation both photo wise and from the point of view of going out on the rain, but neither seems to have stopped you.

I really like number 4 too. The lights add a nice effect to the aircraft.

Yes, they certainly give some idea of how dark it was ... I don't think I upped the brightness on that one ... hmmmm ...
