Just did my first powered flight in ZK-NAN, Cessna 152 at Bay Flight, Tauranga, NZ.
Was an awesome experience, all thanks to Anna who was my instructer.

I did the taxing, takeoff, level and straight and turning! (Rudder + Alerions).
Flight was abit BUMPY and WINDY!

Didnt take any pics up in the air as I was too busy concentrating flying and looking around Tauranga. lol

I like the paint job too but it looked awfully familiar ... Take a look at this picture of -TAP from Ardmore Flying School. Makes me feel a lot better about cloning colour schemes onto other planes then changing the colours in photoshop smile.gif

Nice pictures NZeddy, what sort of flying have you done so far if this was your first powered flight ?

Cheers
Gary

A few hours spent in EO myself, first solo was completed in her wub.gif The same day I got a type rating in the PW-5 GPG, and the ASk-7 GDS (Pinky).
I remember when we uncrated GPZ, that fresh cockpit smell and an empty panel with nothing but a metric PZL altimeter in it... smile.gif

Awesome, sounds like you had fun. smile.gif

The reason the paintschemes on the Cessnas are fairly similar is because they are basically standardised designs offered by Cessna, although obviously the flying school titles are not standard, but the basic livery is. I'm guessing Bay Flight probably chose their own colours - the ones at Ardmore Flying School are completely stock liveries.

I thought that might be the case.

With the Ardmore Flying School ones, you mean apart from the reg numbers and flying school logos it's all completely factory standard, so there will be plenty of other cessnas flying around with that livery in those colours ?

Yes, exactly. For example, there's a 172N based at Pukekohe East airfield which has the same scheme as -TAQ, ZK-JKA (not an AFS aircraft) has the same design as -TAT, -TAV etc. which is also the same as the default FS2004 172 livery and so forth.

Of course, you can get a custom paint scheme, but presumably that costs extra.

Also, to be really exact, technically most of the aircraft are just painted white - the stripes and patterns are decals applied over the top of the paint.
