I imagine he just asked
It's pretty easy to get into the towers, I've been in the Rotorua tower - you just have to ask.
It's especially easy if you get someone particularly friendly or if you know someone who works for Airways.
It also helps to be a student pilot or just interested in aviation.
The towers get a nice view of the airports and activities there and it's pretty cool up there sometimes.

I went up with a group of people in a program called Young Eagles smile.gif
You get to do heaps of aviation related things.
It's not the easiest to get in towers these days because of the security though.

Thanks Q300 thumbup1.gif
You will have to try and get in them sometime. It's great having a view of the whole airport and watching aircraft go in and out.

Cool pics Daniel- I was really looking forward to flying in to the TG past the mount, after climbing it earlier in the year.

Am I right in thinking that these pictures are from Sunday meetup? If so, what time did you arrive in the area, it was way to cloudy for us mid morning!

Thanks Andrew. These pictures were taken on the sunday of the meet up.
I went up flying in the young eagles program and we went around the mount before the meet up.
This was what Tauranga was like on the day you couldn't make it down smile.gif
This would have been about 10.30 I think. I have the high res shots if anyone wants them.

Thanks Andy cool.gif What issue was that in? I have had a look through the March/April one on the CAA website but haven't seen anything yet. It was great down at Nationals getting this and also managing to get second in the Student Air Exercises comp.
