KC-135's ...lots of pics

Postby Splitpin » Mon Feb 06, 2023 8:45 am

All were taken at NZCH last month. Some of the close-ups I requested for reference, but hopefully of interest. I've had to enhance a few as it was a dull day with odd light , also forgot to photoshop some of those annoying bloody light poles.
Great work Jono

NICCCEEEeeee..... They look very purposeful don't they. Awesome the lads were able to get that close. Bet you'd struggle at an overseas base

Nice... Whenuapai used to be quite approachable until some bright sparks tagged a RAAF C-17.
Then they built a prison camp fence around the base.

What's the KC-135 mission out of NZCH?

Thanks for looking team.
Charl, not sure what the mission was, possibly just a flag-waving exercise, in which case keep waving it.
Aharon, normally I photoshop to edit(remove) the light poles behind the aircraft....otherwise, they look like weird antennae.

From what I've read, the KC-135Rs were on something like a farewell tour to all the places that have been visited by them.
With the KC-46 Pegasus slowly taking over the tanker role, that wouldn't surprise me.
