Great pics Jace. The Herc is certainly pretty interesting huh.
Love the bigger fans on those B717's, such a shame there isn't a recent payware FSX model for them.

Great photo's , the defunct Impulse airline operated the first Boeing 717s , had a chance to check out a two day old on the ramp in Sydney ... course the airline flopped and the 71s went to QANTAS .... the fave would have to be the 747 cool.gif

Not quite Ian, the airline was bought out by Qantas after Qantas utilised their services as LCC in competition with Virgin Blue. Impulse and the 717s soon became Jetstar. Now the aircraft are operated by Cobham Aviation on behalf of Qantaslink I believe.

Very similar to what ANZ did to fledgling Hamilton based airline KIWI , little airline got pushed out of the market , other good example was Origin ... rip the underline base out and the small airlines topple .

always warm, be nice to get some rain!! alas the 747 is getting harder to spot these days here in Brisbane, on the flip side, the 717 and Fokker 70s and 100s are becoming quite easy to see. still don't have any a380 services yet, ian there was also k2000 after kiwi, but they lasted only a few flights,

Jas , it was a least aircraft from tour company Airtours 2000 originally a 727 then replaced with the 757 , maintainace done in Singapore i recall and was deliberately stalled , by govt and ANZ boss's .. same dribble that happened with Origin and course Impulse in Oz and going back many years ago SPANZ ,

But yes it was a 757 with a great across the fuselage .

I knew k2000 was a leased a/c, all middle eastern flight crew, rude as as well, always got in our way and made our life difficult trying to turn the a/c around, the a/c was very dirty as well,

anyways, as promised here is the mystery plane

.

the old but still impressive an-124, was loading up some bushmasters, huge aircraft, and very unusual to see up close in daylight hours

Amazing how these AN124s get around the world , in and out of NZCH once in a while , i saw one do a wing over from zero ATL during a display .. that was impressive .. inside the hold ..least the one i was speaking off had a 15Tonne gantry crane inside plus a couple of 5Tonners

That Herc , strange you showing that model the Civil L100-30 , had one come in overhead yesterday afternoon a SAFIR from the ice .. funny thing with the scheme , they all white bar the logo and SAFAIR logo on the tail , you would thing you would loose em laugh.gif

Lunch .. check .. Earmuffs .. check .. Safety boots .. check .. eye protection .. check .. communication headset .. check .. CAMERA .. check .
