yeah that Brisbane taxiway goes for miles.
sounds to me like you saved the lives of every passenger on board by keeping the camera off, nice job! (and some nice pics there too)
i was a bit scared of taking footage at Brisbane airport, there are signs everywhere telling you not to...

Thanks for sharing your shots Jimmy, I have learnt quite a lot from them:

1) I never knew QF has A330's, or any airbus' in their fleet for that matter. What route do they fly them on?

2) I didn't knoew EK flew to Chirstchurch- what other international carriers do you get down there? (sorry for being a Jaffa)

3) JAL have changed thier logo to JAA, what's with that?

You had a great variety of photos which I enjoyed looking at- thanks :D

P.S. What is that airline with the green stripe on the tail?

yeah, they're relitively new, about 3 years old. i assume they fly them to asia? they have A300's too, and remember that they're getting A380's... (eventually. 2008 the first one is now scheduled to arrive.)

I seem to think Qantas have A340's as well, although you might be able to pin it down to my delusional state of mind....

Singapore fly to NZCH, and also a few others. Aerolinas Argentinas rings a bell in their A340's, but that might be Qantas and/or Auckland. :ph43r:

Thats Air Niuguini...i think they hired that plane from ANZ. >nzflag<

QANTAS' A330-200's are used on domestic runs while the A330-300's go up to asian cities-mainly Singapore and HK. As for the A300, they were taken out of service 2 or 3 years ago.

Sorry dude your a bit dilusional lol  ..nah they never ordered any at all.

Hmmm I think I know a little too much about QANTAS lol

yup! ek412 I beleve is the one that flys in about 11am then leaves at around2pm. Yeah and the singapore 772 is around at the same time, I think thats all we get, just then and qfa, ow and c17s :P

yeah that Brisbane taxiway goes for miles.

We had relatively short taxi, about the same lenthgh out to o2 at nzch, we went to the threshhold of rwy01 so it wasnt too bad (or maby staring out the window at all those planes made it seem quicker  ) YSSY when my aunty came here a few days ago from sydney she said she thort they were driveing to new zealand lol

Did you actually get food from Air NZ on the flight?

well they call it a"meal" I personaly would put it more in the smal snack catergory  Just a little potato cake (soggy) and a muffin, not quite what I planned for when I skiped breakfast that morning  hehe

3) JAL have changed thier logo to JAA, what's with that?

JAA (Japan Asia Airlines) is a subsidiary of JAL. Kinda like Freedom and Air NZ. Same company, same logo, different name.

When I lived out there, I got to see that Air Niugini 767 transition from Air NZ colors to Air Niugini colors. It was cool.

Your QF Airbus question has already been answered, but from what I understand, Qantas was looking at either the A340 or the 747-8. With the A380 delayed, a lot of airlines are looking to Boeing for aircraft. I also hear that Qantas pilots are not at all happy with the performance of the A330-200 (the -300s are okay, though).

Aerolineas Argentinas fly to NZAA (as does LAN, formerly LAN Chile). AFAIK, Emirates, Singapore, Pacific Blue (Virgin), and Jetstar are the international players. There may be more I'm missing.

And that runway with the 727 in that city picture is closed, I think. It's now a taxiway/aircraft parking lot on the way to the Cargo ramp.

Its disappointing your food was bung on ANZ, qantas food is really classy. Trans-tasman they served us a choice of Creamy chicken or Spagetti and meatballs. The meatballs are so good!
