Originally going to be Hawaii-Hawaii but thought that it should end in New Zealand.
The whole thing should be completed in seven days.
Going the long way around plus each flight will be in a Jet that seats 100+.

First Flight:

Lihue-Honolulu
Boeing 717-200

I start my trip nice and early for a morning departure to Honolulu.

Climbing to a low FL150 due to small flight time.

Lihue Airport

Cruising

Starting finals

On final

Flaring

50feet...

Slowing down - plenty of space without need for reversers though

Hawaiian We Stand!!

Cool tour you got planned. Nice screenshots, fs2004??

Yep, Fs2004. I decided on the tour well. This afternoon. I needed something to do with FS so I wasn't aimlessly flying around.
Anyway I am trying to fix the size. I will get photobucket to further reduce the size.

The 717 is a pretty neat looking aircraft. Which 717 do you have Kelburn?

Jet City Aircraft 717 with Ken Mitchell's 17 Panel. It's a good model but wingviews only.
I will definitely fit a 737 flight in. Somewhere.

After a few hours in San Francisco I boarded my flight to Washington Dulles.

Leg 3

United 1026
San Francisco-Washington Dulles
Boeing 757-200

Climbing to 32000

Cockpit at cruise

Starting my descent

Approach over the suburbs

established

Short finals

flare

slowing down

taxiing

still taxiing

final resting spot

quick trip to the hotel for some sleep before I move onwards.

Sorry about the photos. Nigh means they don't come out so good

Nearly got the sizes right. Will work on that tomorrow...

Ok.
After a day in D.C. I was ready for my next flight. This was quite a long one (although not much longer than the other ones I've been doing smile.gif ) but it was time to move on. Lucky me, going in a 777-200! From what I could see, it was nice weather at Dulles. The sun slowly went out of view and before I knew it, it was time to go to my departure lounge.

Leg 3:

United 924
Washington-Dulles - London-Heathrow
Boeing 777-200

Very nice cockpit. Large and luxurious.

The airbridge clearly shows the height of a 777. The ground crew are making my flight ready.

Pushed back, ready to start the fires.

Lots and lots and lots of Regional airplanes before me...

after 15min it was onto the runway and straight off to England!

Climbing away into the black sky

Cruising over Greenland(?)

Spectators get a nice view!

Finally the sun starts to reappear!

The sun is taking it time!

Finally I can see my surroundings. England is fast approaching

Cup holders. They thought of everything!

Spoilers to slow a slippery plane

Long finals

Entering the rain

The wind was...

...making it difficult

"smoke on the water" (so to speak considering it was a wet runway)

slowing down

plenty of traffic here

Slowly does it...

nicely done!

a nice rest after a long journey.

My journey so far:

A day in London then onwards in a 737-300 (YES!!)

Hope you enjoyed these.

Nice tour here Kelburn- I'll be following this one to the end.

Nice- you've got about 1000 airports in your range from LHR! I suggest somewhere like Barcelona, Rome or Malta thumbup1.gif

P.S.
You're not flying this real time are you?

Once again I have moved on!
By the way each flight I do is a regular passenger flight (actual real life one) so I am using real life timetables etc...

After a day in London it was time to fly to Dusseldorf!

Leg 5
LH4771
Boeing 737-300
London Heathrow - Dusseldorf

A nice early start with the food already being tucked away in the galley

Fog as usual for London

A 40 minute waiting list ended me up late!

Haha! Bet them to the runway!

Once climbing I could see the gate I had just left.

A nice cruising altitude of 38000ft

Fog once again

The ground is getting closer.
I fear that I will have to land in this!

but no, the fog left as quickly as it came!

50!, 40!, 30!...

Easy does it. Let's not perform the flying brick act!

Touchdown!

Spoilers!

Slowing down!

Ahh a nice relaxing 24 hours in Dusseldorf before my next flight (in an Airbus this time).

I'm getting nearer New Zealand!!

Anyway, I'm not doing this in real time (I actually won't have enough time). But its fun and has given me purpose for my flying!

Tui I do like the 'Climb out' shot , only thing missing is the run of moisture along the porthole and the whisper effect of condersation from the wing surfaces smile.gif

What add ons were you running in that last leg?

Nice shots.......you have another follower smile.gif

Another leg. I am beginning to wonder if I'm going to make it in time! (I couldn't do a flight today. I did this yesterday. I need to do two flights a day to make it!) I was using freeware (Well demo version of UK2000 Heathrow Pro) EGLL and EDDL. FFX 737. Freeware again for this flight. Project Airbus A319. I was thrilled cause it had that wing bouncing effect you get when on approach!!

Anyway. Onwards to Frankfurt for a brief transit then onto Bangkok!!
P.S. sorry about the jaggies. My system doesn't like running antialiasing

Leg 6:

Dusseldorf - Frankfurt/Main
LH805
A319

Once again an early, foggy start

After pushback we started engines. Right on time.

Another 737 ahead of me.

Full intensity lights!

Waiting for clearance

This is the FUN part!! (Well one of two)

Climbing into that fog

Gee, it's all over Europe!

But it goes as quick as it comes

and then reappears!

only a 100mile fight.

thus I was descending before I reached my cruise

sorry about the zoom but I'm sure the runways at EDDF are too close for parallel landings!!?

Flaps down. landing gear, three greens!

Worse than Heathrow!

Flare!

slowing down

heavies everywhere!

Lots of traffic! (worse than Auckland at rush hour)

an endless line of planes

I wonder who this is a hub for??

Anyway, hopefully I will have done my next flight by tomorrow.
Cheers,
kelburn

Cool shots, especially EDDF! But how many Star Alliance LH 744s are there IRL? laugh.gif

Good stuff Tui- the 3D runway lighting on the runway at Dusseldorf looks pretty realistic in your screenshots in the last post. (Although the front wheel covers on your LF737 needed repainting!)

I too have made a fleeting stop in Frankfurt Airport in real life, twice actually, enroute from London to Jakarta with Guarda Indonesia- wish I had had more time to spend there.

I think I'm getting some AI double ups... No idea as to why....

Anyway the Dusseldorf lights are just texture enhancements I downloaded a while ago.

Another leg!:

Another long haul. The longest so far.

Leg 7:
Frankfurt/Main - Singapore Changi
SQ25

As always, plenty of traffic!

Nice large aircraft at my disposal!

On pushback, it can be revealed just how much traffic there is!

more 744s!!!

That's a long line!

Haha, I cut the line!

Lined up and waiting

feel that acceleration!

More aircraft!!

Climbing into the unknown. (Once again I was greeted by fog)

Cruising

sunset...

creates a nice highlight effect on my aircraft

Starting my descent somewhere over Penang

Starting approach. The big flaps are brought down...

Hey, it's a Christmas tree!!

Touchdown like a feather!!

ahhh... slowing down.

Can anyone tell me who this is a hub for?? laugh.gif

Anyway I've still got one leg to do do plus one more to still upload.

Second to last leg.
After a day in Singapore I boarded my next flight. Running short of time I decided to skip Australia and head straight to New Zealand.

Leg 8:
Singapore - Auckland
SQ285
777-300

Well. One would suppose that this were a Singapore hub eh?

A long aircraft means that yo have to go along way around the runway to line up!

Singapore is always busy!

back to Frankfurt?

Feel the g-force pulling you down!

Taking off parallel to a JAL 777

Cruising into sunrise

Finally! The sun again!

Nearing Sydney

Over the Tasman

Nice contrasting aircraft at 38000ft

Starting my descent!

Land ahoy!

Making my approach

Fog! Again!... It's been following me from Europe!

...Gears down and locked!...

...Flaps 30...

...visual on airport...

Boeing actually recommends not to flare the -300 as it's extreme length can easily result in tail strike

nearly!

Touchdown!

feel the deceleration

Thrusters and spoilers deployed

flaps back up

huh? I shouldn't be seeing you here...?

Cathay A340 next to me...

Engines shut down!

Finally back in NZ. Now only a small hop in a 737 to NZWN!

PostPosted: Thu Dec 18, 2008 7:56 pm

Finally! My Final Leg!

Well it's only a short hop. And just in time too!

Leg 9:
Auckland - Wellington
NZ439
737-300

Boarding time

pushback and engine start

Another 737-300 arrived

feel that power as you rocket forward

Climbing. This aircraft is capable of at least 3000ft/per minute even with a full load of passengers!!

doesn't that water look tantalising

turning on course

cruising

still cruising...

Lawrie's NZNP

descent

Approach

Fog! Again!!!!

Finals

Nice touchdown!

slowing down

taxiing

Parked.

Wow that was long!:

Thanks for your support. Anyway I finished in time which is all good.
