Im going to do a round the world tour. It will be in different Aircraft, depending on which area of the world I go to.

3. Tokyo -- Indira Ghandi (Delhi Intl) Air India B747-400
3. Indira Ghandi -- Capetown Intl Air India A310 via Madagascar
4. Capetown Intl -- Cairo Intl Egypt Air B767
5.Cairo Intl--->London Heathrow British Airways B767
6London Heathrow--- JFK Intl Lufthansa B747-400
7.JFK Intl-- Los Angeles Intl American Airlines B737-800
8.Los Angeles Intl - Nadi Intl Air Pacific B747-400
9. Nadi Intl-- Sydney Intl Qantas Airlines Airbus Industries A320
10 Sydney Intl -- Auckland Intl Pacific Blue B737-800

And the other great part is... Im flying the whole way! Should make for an interesting trip

theres already enough to fly as it is! That may be why its called a "Sort of" world tour

Wicked stuff, I once flew from London to Auckland in a 737 stopping off at a heap of airports along the way- it's great fun and I bet you will enjoy yourself. Look foward to some screenie posts too!

I dont think Qantas operate the A320, only it's subsisity airline Jetstar, and I don't believe they fly to Fiji.

Are you trying to use real world aircraft on real world airline routes or just random?

im using the airline that is in the area where I am flying from/to. I wouldnt actually have a clue where or not they fly, and what aircraft

An update on the tour. My Air New Zealand 747 suffered double engine failure coming out of auckland, after two bird strikes. It then stalled and splashed into the ocean

not sure their engine numbers. 3 and 4 i think. The two right ones, sending my plane spiralling down, while I was eating an apple watching tv momentarily

they should fly on 1 engine - we had a B744 ingest birds through 3 engines on departure from Auckland and though not all 3 totally failed it managed to return okay.

Well, here we go, leg one 7:14AM-4:00PM Saturday 10 February (Real Weather) Flight Time 11 hours 13 minutes. Auckland International Airport- Hong Kong International Airport.

Its horrible weather at NZAA this morning. Rainy, cold, and thunderstorms.

I took a picture out the window. The weather is still absolutely horrible, but looks like the flights going ahead anyway

Beginning to take off, the weather further deteriorates, and visibility drops.

Up, Up, and away. We see the shadow of the plane in the morning sun, which is somehow making its way through the thick clouds?


Oh my god! I forgot to bring the co pilot! Well, looks like Im on my own

It appears theres no one flying the plane, but really Im drinking at the back of the plane with the rest of the crew. Oh well, Autopilot will take care of that!

As we start decending, I wonder if I would even be able to land in this cloud...

I managed to find the airport, despite not knowing anything about ILS approaches and all that mumbo jumbo


There was a cross wind, and all my landing plans got mucked up. Luckily, I managed to correct it with some "crabbing" (I think thats what its called)


And a hard landing.... very hard... but we're down


Reverse thrust, spoilers, flaps, and I manage to stop safely before plowing off the end of the runway, into the water.

Just on time... the Cathay Pacific aircraft I will be using for my next leg arrives from Singapore

p.s. I feel sorry for the passengers cause the turbulence must have been hell!

I had a flight like that once, the pilot dude was consorting with the hostesses midflight, said he was offduty. He didn't actually say he was having a smoko from the front seat of that flight but that's my lasting impression.
And the landing...we flew for about a half hour down the runway and then the plane plopped down and dentures flew down the length of the aisles as emergency braking was put into effect.
This was not an ANZ flight
BB I think your next leg out of Singapore should be on Singapore Airlines.
See if you can get a tailstrike on takeoff.
