Following on from the last set I posted in the screenshot section, here's the return flight from Galatea to Tauranga via Tarawera and Rotorua in a DuoDiscusX... Launch was via the WinchX addon, to 1300' with 2 POB and 200L of water ballast. CumulusX was pumping out weak to average thermals and a 10kt NWer, so dolphin flying (straight-lining at speed, pulling up and bleeding off speed to maximize time spent in lift and circling only when absolutely necessary) was the order of the day.
Probably would have had much better climb performance without the water ballast onboard, but at the expense of penetration and overall speed dry.gif
