I'd always wanted to fly the B777 but somehow never managed to tie in my itinerary with its schedule.
This time I made sure I got what I wanted - online booking allows you to make specific choices.
NZ8 is a codeshare flight from Melbourne to San Francisco, stopping in at Auckland NZ.
Here it is:

Snapped this in passing - always liked SAL colours and this one exposed naturally to blend the fuselage with the hazy sky.

I was deeply impressed with the 777 from a passenger point of view, and ANZ staff were great.
Of course, one wonders what the trip looks like from the office end, so I loaded up FS9 and did so.
Interestingly the AI at YMML was pretty much what I remembered seeing on the apron.
Letting down from 36,000ft I was passed by a climbing ANZ 767.
I hope the pass was not as close as this in RL.

Having real-world weather available in the sim is amazing.
Sure enough, closer to NZ the weather started looking a bit iffy:

and on touchdown had closed right in. Exactly as I had experienced it.

As real as it gets.
FS a/c is Meljet B777-200.

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

Do you actually sit in front of a screen for that long?
