Hi everyone,

I went on an interesting flight this morning, from Christchurch intl. airport to Sydney, in my new Emirates 777-300er. I set the weather to stormy, the time to 5:15am and the season to winter. I took off into some strange weather patterns and on take off my 777 was being blown around like a baloon. The sky was a cool reddy colour as the sun was rising. I set off on my flight and as i reached the West Coast of NZ the wind and rain got heavy and stronger. I was being blown far off course by the extremely strong Southerly winds. At the midway point i cheched my fuel gauge. Oh no - my tank was all ready 1/2 empty. Would i have enought gas?? I kept plugging through the stormy weather and as i drew nearer to Sydney..............guess what?? the weather got worse! I hit a big tropical storm! I started to decend into Sydney. I finally touched down after a battering 52kt crosswind (the biggest i've ever been in) landing. Tomorrow i'll depart on my journey home. hopefully the weather will be a bit better!! sad.gif

Half Full in a 777-300ER Will get you a very very long way tongue.gif

Is 52knots past the maximum Crosswind Allowed?? I think you would normally divert to YSCB,YMML or YBBN in those sort of Conditions-
