Hi all,
First of all, I’d like to wish everyone reading a Happy New Year and apologise for the slightly late newsletter- yours truly was away camping during the end of the end of month rollover and has only just returned.
Anyhow, first on the agenda is deeknow’s NZ Business Jets AI project which I accidentally forgot to include last month, a nice 5mb download from avsim (filename nzai-bizjets-v1.zip) that “aims to provide AI aircraft repaints and realistic flight-plans for all business/corporate jets that are currently based in and operating from New Zealand. 10 of the 11 Aircraft known to be NZ based are included.â€
More information can be found in the official thread for the topic pinned at the top of Aircraft sub forum here.
Another new release from December comes from CPTDAN in the form of his RNZAF A4-K Skyhawk pit package, available from the downloads page of his own website. This one is specifically for FSX and includes a variety of customised replacement panels for the Razbam and Abcus models.
Adamski’s also been busy with a new project that he has started since our last update, being his ‘NZ Full Fleet Database’ website, which he has set up to provide a one stop searchable shop, listing of all NZ related aircraft repaints currently available for both FS9 and FSX.
It’s going to be a mammoth task collecting all the different file links, but Adam has already made a very impressive start, with 84 individual thumbnailed addons already catalogued.
If you can contribute or help out in any way, visit the official thread here and be sure to save the site URL, www.nzfsim.org to your bookmarks folder.
In other news, something most of you will have already noticed is the new ‘Real World Aviation Photography’ sub section, which is now part of the Non Flightsim Related category at the bottom of the NZFF homepage- this was basically created to make finding the many fantastic threads featuring real world aircraft easier, rather than having to dig through the 1000+ other topics in the main R.W.A sub section to gain access.
Some fascinating new entries from December include happytraveller's Unusual aircraft at Cape Verde Islands, d3fai13r’s Ukraine Vacations, and vdm’s Aircraft around Indonesia topics.
Lastly, don’t forget to cast your vote for the Flight1 sponsored December Screenshot Competition (voting is open until the evening of the 7th of January as many members will have been away over the holiday period) and think up a Beach Themed entry for January’s Screenshot Competition where you have the chance to win a payware prize from Captainsim!
Enjoy 2009,
From Andrew and the NZFF Admin Team.
