Good question Nick. Answer is I'm not sure, I assume that you can't just clear the count by going into your inbox? We've had a problem where an inbox was telling us it was full when it was actually empty, but not this. I'll have a look around and see what i can turn up..

Possibility is that someone sent you a 'tracked' message (which you can enable from the sending screen), and then recalled it before you had a chance to read it.

I wonder if it will reset to zero if I send you a PM - here's nothing.

I've had that negative thing as well, I think. But with the database project, my PM suddenly mushroomed well into the positive . I'm wondering whether it's something to do with messages from members who leave (or get removed). I had a few in my inbox that were flagged "User deleted" (or suchlike). Maybe that trips a counting bug somewhere.
