Hey guys,

Just thought I'd put out the call for comments/suggestions on anything new you'd like to see here or something you'd like changed, so don't hesitate - let us know.

In other news, you can try out our corny Christmas skin, do it in the usual way, by the drop-down box at the bottom-left of the page. winkyy.gif

OK - I'll bite!

Not sure how easy it is to tinker with FF code ...but looking at the screenshots voting page - it'd be great if the thumbnails could somehow link to their larger equivalents. I'm often in two minds which one to vote for and sometimes the threads that contain the pics can be a few good pages long (we should complain!!!) and finding the ones you're trying to decide on can be "fun".

My Christmas wish is to win just ONE screenshot competition ninja.gif ... the prizes are always pretty amazing (thanks)!!!

Bar that - I think all admins and mods should give themselves a well-earned seasonal "pat on the back"! clapping.gif

Errrmm ... ONE MORE THING ... I seem to remember a little bit of fund-raising was necessary a little while back. Before you lot start to beg ... I thought maybe us *users* could beat you to it and - as a Christmas gesture - offer to show our appreciation by putting our money where our big feet usually go laugh.gif. How are funds these days???

I've tried that out on this months voting poll and seems to be working OK, so I've no trouble doing it again next month. smile.gif

We still have about ~$110 left over from last this year (the response this year was phenomenal, cheers! clapping.gif), and a quick tally on my part leaves about $300 to make up till we are fully covered. I personally would not like to give away money at Christmas-time, I mean I feel like I'm spending enough buying xmas pressies and whatnot - I can't speak for anyone else but that's my feeling. smile.gif

Must be like the dreaded electricity/phone bill though ... won't we be in for next year's costs again all too soon? I think I feel a little more generous a week or two before Christmas than the weeks immediately after laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

We must be hitting the spot with everyone then, if these are the only changes people would like to see. rolleyes.gif

I've raised this before but I would like to see a real world aviation photography section - otherwise I am happy the way it is.

Ok, that's fair enough. Perhaps we can delay sending the newsletter off till the evening of the last of the month, and put links to the voting for the past month's competition, and the new month's competition in there? smile.gif

Merry Christmas to all the members of NZFF, and in particular the NZFF Admin Team and moderators santa_cool.gif

You guys do an excellent job of operating and maintaining the forum, and work tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Having been involved in running large forums myself, I really do appreciate the vast amount of work you guys do; it doesn't go unnoticed winkyy.gif clapping.gif

Merry Christmas to all!! santa_cool.gif

I'll add my thanks to the people behind the scenes that keep this board ticking ... good on yer! santa_cool.gif

I've had a "seasonal" thought ... how about a Monthly Screenshot of the Year vote (from the 12 winners)? Maybe no prizes - just an end-of-the-year kind of thing. Easy to do? If not ... *forget it* ... we don't want to add to the admins' workload at this time of the year. Mind you - it couldn't happen till January, as we'd need December's winner ...

The forum seems to pretty much have hit the sweet spot, but how about a picture/screenshot gallery feature for members to upload to? For some it can be a pain to find somewhere to host their pics.

Oh and how about a forum area for chopper-talk, I realise the posts can fit into the existing generic aircraft, screenshot, announcements and videos forums etc, but sometimes you might just wanna have some general talk about flying helos?

I'm sure the admins will put us right here ... but the problem is twofold - webspace and bandwidth. I do websites for a living and find that hosting in NZ is *unblievably* expensive. The words "off" and "rip" spring to mind. What's worse - ISPs nobble you for bandwidth (no ISP outside NZ can be bothered to do this).

So ... if you can get these (large) pic files hosted somewhere else for free ...
