Hi Guys,
Well, another month draws to a close, so it's time again for the monthly newsletter!
For those looking for a freeware ATR-72 as an alternative to the Flight 1 ATR, this month the Israeli Simulation Design Team have released one, along with a Mount Cook Livery.
A look at Robin's website shows that the much awaited Southern Lakes Adventure has been released for FSX, including updated Wanaka and Tekapo sceneries, as well as missions especially for FSX.
Timmo has done another update of the Scenery Map. It now features airspace boundaries, and full 3-D viewing. It's definitely well worth a look.
There is a freeware NH-90 that has been released on the RNZAF website. Available for FS9 at the moment, with an FSX version coming later.
Owners of the Wilco PIC 737 can now have their own repaint of ZK-FRE, the green 737-300 operated by Air New Zealand, thanks to kleinjakob who released a repaint this month.
Goff_nznr has released another scenery – this time a new terminal for Tauranga. Check it out here.
Hugh has released some sceneries for a few of New Zealand's smaller airports that Microsoft missed out – Pukaki, Franz Josef, and Ruawai.
Ian Warren has posted a great collection of screenshots showing the new Orbx Melbourne FSX scenery. It's looking pretty amazing!
The September Screenshot Competition has wound up, the 'Back to Basics' theme proved very popular! The voting for the winning screenshot has started, have your say in the voting thread.
This month's competition is based around 'The Spirit of NZFF'; the winner will receive a USD$50 credit at the A2A Simulations Online Store, check out the entries here.
While we're on the topic of screenshots, a relative newcomer to NZFF, Frank (a.k.a Panavia) has been flat out painting the Aermacchi MB 339 and P-3K Orion in RNZAF colours, you can check out screenshots (and also download the repaints) of Frank's work here.
Charl has been working hard on a GNZLAP special release – "A Flock of Fletchers". Follow the AI Fletcher planes to some of the remote airports in the Taranaki region. This utilises some of Lawrie's recent sceneries.
Speaking of Lawrie (Snowman), sceneries released this month include Kone Airport (NWWD), Glenorchy (NZGY), Taihape (NZVR), and an updated Wanganui (NZWU).
Hardcorepawn has posted video footage of his recent night flight over the Auckland CBD, and it's well worth checking out.
In real aviation news, if you're around Auckland this October 10th, be on the lookout for the A380's first visit to the country. More info.
That's all for this month.
Regards,
Robin, Alex, and Matt
