Hi guys,

We'd just like to see what you think about having a reviews section here on NZFF. Please vote above, and feel free to reply as well if you have any thoughts you'd like heard. :)

Thanks!

So are you getting payware companys to supply free addons for reviews like all the other sites ,or is it going to be ones that we have and write about ??
if there was free stuff coming in who would be getting them just the guys that always write stuff or would you dish them out to all at lest once so everyone would get the chance to do this ..
what way would you choise reviewers ?
have you worked out a plan of any sort to the way this will work fairly for all members

I think you could dish them (payware stuff) out to every one (only software not hardware  ) that say has been for a member for over a year etc.
But it's up to all you guys.

And for who does the reviewing, maybe everyone should get a go (one different person does one new review each week or so) and maybe to be nice the first reviewers could be someone who doesn't have the money to buy FS addons (can't name anyone at the moment though, but there are definitly some)

It would have to be something that matched the reviewer skill level aswell no point in asking a boeing pilot how the helo flys if he hardly ever flys one or cant fly one

All good points,
I recon you could have a group like the Admins and Mods but there quite smiply called "reviewers" I dont know how you could select them but there could be a contest or something and the people who would like to be reviewers have to write a review on a freeware aircraft and then the best 3 or 4 (depending on how many reviewers you want) become NZFF reviewers.
Just my idea anyway :wink2:

You could do a review competition.
Give everybody all together a freeware addon to review (e.g. Project Opensky Erj-135 or Robin Corn's NZQN etc.) and say the top five reviews can be the reviewers (and to further up participation the group can change ever so often) or you could do as I said above and let everyone review something (as long as it's a suitable category for them as creator2003 pointed out)

I thought that it would simply be people reviewing add-ons that they owned...
I think that individuals would have to talk to the companies on a 'per-review' basis if they wanted free copies of anything, rather than us trying to organise free payware products for everyone... :)

Thoughts?

I was thinking on doing reviews with a NZ angle (ie repaints) ie Cap Sim C-130, Rick Piper Andover/HS-748, Carenado C-182Q/RG & 206

That sounds good, given this is the New Zealand Flightsim Forums. :)

I was thinking doing more of these reviews which includes a brief history of the plane, its use in NZ and a review of the addon itself.

Mm I like Naki's idea better, there are reviews for most decent payware on avsim and flightsim.com..Would be good to have it really NZ-based.
