Hi again and welcome to another edition of the NZFF monthly newsletter.

Firstly, to all those experiencing issues with the viewing threads, switching from standard to linear, there is a simple fix to change your setting back to its original state. Simply click the big ‘OPTIONS’ button which you can find on the right hand side of title bar, in any thread, as show here. Select ‘switch to standard’ in the drop down menu box, and every post you see from now on will be displayed as in the normal post below post format.

Now on to the news- we have two great prizes up for grabs this month, with two separate competitions running together in the screenshots sub forum. Firstly, we have the traditional December Screenshot Competition, with the winner not only getting their shot cropped into the website banner, but they will also receive a copy of Carenado’s brand spanking new Mooney 201 model! Every shot entered this month must display one of Robindanbo’s brilliant repaints for the freeware Vistaliners 737-300 model, available to download for FS2004 and FSX here.

We also have a Special Christmas Competition running, where you can submit a screenshot depicting scenery outside of New Zealand for once. The reasoning behind this is that we have a boxed 'MegaScenery New York' addon to give away to the winner, so the geographical location is appropriate to the prize. A big thanks to Ian ‘Wingman’ Warren, being the member who has offered this prize to the winner, I’m sure it will give many members a great incentive to enter.

In other news, Lawrie Roache (aka Snowman) has released a brilliant little Whangarei Airport scenery for FS2004 fixing the ‘climbing water’ bug seen at the end of each runway with the GeographX and Red Baron addon meshes. See this thread for more information.

Also, I would just like to point out that at NZFF, we are equally FS2004 and FSX user friendly. Some members have discussed there being an anti-FSX sediment among other members, but we would like to officially clarify that no such thing exists. We have a special sub forum dedicated entirely to FSX related topics, and plenty of great scenery, aircraft and screenshot posts throughout the forum. A few of our older members took off and created their own forum at ARNZ, but that was their own decision to do so, we didn’t force anyone out!

Speaking of ARNZ, Jon Murchison from the group has released his long awaited new BAe 146-300 and 300QT models for FS9, with a FSX version coming soon. The aircraft are freeware, and can be downloaded from the Historic Jetliner Group webpage here.

With Christmas drawing closer and closer, REAL NZ have put together a special collection of all the previously published FS2004-only scenery, on a single CD. In the festive spirit, Robin has created a special $10 discount for NZFF members, bringing the price down to a very respectable $79. You can find more information out about this offer here.

Finally, another cool product on the market this holidays is the Sim Pilot Magazine 2008 Calendar- a perfect gift for all flight simmers, and a quality presentation of some of the best flightsim products available today. The total price, including shipping, is $27.00, and can be purchased here.

That just about wraps things up,
Have a Merry Christmas and best wished for the New Year!

From Trolly, and the NZFF Admin team.
