Hi all,
The weather is pretty cold and miserable right now in the middle of winter, so that gives you all a decent excuse to stay inside, crank up your flight simulator and take a good browse through the forums!
On July 19th we switched over from our ‘invisionfree’ boards to the ‘invision Power’ website, with all its new features. It is quite different from what we have been seeing for over a year, but hopefully as time goes by, it will begin feeling more like home and you will get used to it if you haven’t already. Be sure to check out and utilize all the new features on offer such as the Gallery, Blog, search engine and RSS feeds- all accessible from the home page www.NZFF.org
In other news, Real NZ Rotorua has been patched for FSX and is due for release in the next week. It includes some (but not all) new building textures, added reflections to glass-fronted terminals and the photoreal aerial imagery has been increased from 4.8 metres/pixel to 2.5 metres/pixel and doubled in area. The photoreal component will be released as ‘demoware’ for FSX and will be available from www.windowlight.co.nz
Also, there are many FSX default aircraft repaints, both based on real kiwi aircraft and fictional ZK’s, created by our members available for free download at www.flightsim.co.nz/SKINS.htm
Congratulations are in order to Keagan Gaarkeuken, aka ZK-KAG (our Real World Aviation moderator) who successfully passed his PPL Flight Test on Friday, down at Massey University in Palmerston North. You can follow his adventures from the Manawatu in this thread here: http://nzff.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2825
Also, well done to Creator2003 who you voted as the winner of the July screenshot completion with his ZK-IUP at Omaka image. He deserves our praise for two specific reasons, 1) being that he managed to get a chopper up on our page banner for the first time in our 16th month history, and 2) he very generously gave away the prize to another of our members- Benwynn! Well done Mike!
That’s it for this months round up, be sure to enter this month’s screenshot competition for a chance to win a RedBaron Entertainment product here: http://nzff.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4064
Cheers,
Trolly, and the NZFF Admin Team
