Hi NZFF'ers.

Last month was a very busy one with all our birthday celebrations, so I will quickly summarize the happenings from the last thirty odd days here:

"Forum Field 2007', the first major FSX online airshow was a tremendous success, with dozens of participants and spectators enjoying the event on April 28th. A huge thanks to JonARNZ and all others involved for organizing such a spectacular celebration for the community! There are plenty of screenshots and videos scattered around the forums, so have a hunt though if you have not seen them already.

The "very special kiwi aircraft package' that was mentioned in the last newsletter has now been released, being of course Deane Baunton's FU24 Fletcher. It works fantasically in both FS2004 and FSX and can be downloaded at avsim.com under the filename "fu24_950.zip' (A fix for the fs2004 gauges issue has been posted in the Aircraft sub-forum)

Many of you have already have heard that Charl, one of our top posters, has stepped down from his Administration role and will now continue to surf NZFF as a regular member. We would like to take this chance to thank him for all the hard work he has put into looking after us, keeping us behaved, and producing amazing AI addons such as his GNZLAP series. He has a new military version in the pipeline too"¦

ARNZ has announced that is now fully dedicated to FSX, and has removed its limited edition ZK-DAK repaint which was a one off special for NZFF members from its website. Don't be disappointed though, as their "Awesome Foursome' project is on its way, as well as a few more DC-3 surprises that will be popping up in the forums in June"¦

Tim "Timmo' Barnes has released two cool photoreal scenery addons for FSX, White Island and Mayor Island, and plans to release a further two from Bay of Plenty region. They include textures for summer daytime flying, plus autogen, and can be downloaded for free by searching his name in avsim.

Also, Alex has added a number of special features to the site, including a bar at the bottom of the homepage where you can view a few statistics, including the record number of users online at a single time, which incidentally was 34 on April 30th 2007, 08:39 PM!

That's about it, be sure to check out this months screenshot competition, where you can win a prize from Aerosoft. The theme is "My Home Town' which you can see here: http://z11.invisionfree.com/nzff/index. ... topic=3218

Cheers,
From Trolly and the NZFF Admin team
