Chatbox toll

Postby gojozoom » Tue Apr 07, 2015 8:33 pm

Hi guys,

Please vote yes if you'd like to have a chatbox installed on the front page so that people could do real-time general chitchat when logged on.

Given that not everyone want's to voice chat, or may not have a mic then it gives an alternative option

That has been a typical di-e-lama , $10 mic all it takes

TS allows text messaging as well as voice, but you have to install TS, whereas a chat facility within the forum would be there for everyone. I'm not sold on the idea, though others will probably like it.

I love Chat Boxes.... :groupwave: ...!

Excellent opportunity to spot each others spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, etc, and try to avoid one's own daft spelling mistakes!

Can be lots of fun!.... ....!

It works on "Steam", and Multiplayer.

Team speak, for me, involves far too much plugging and unplugging connections on the back of my computer to replace all my existing synthesizer, and keyboard, etc, studio equipment.
The session is all over by the time I have everything set up and adjusted!
The Chat Window on Multiplayer is instant connection and communication for me!

Paul.... B-) ...!

My biggest issue with TeamSpeak is that for some crazy reason it doesn't work with TrackIR...I know it sounds crazy, but as long as TrackIR binary is running TS crashes after a second or so.... So I can't fly and socialize in the same time....first-world problems.

Installing Teamspeak disables my Skype, and as I use Skype all the time I can't use Teamspeak. I've come to suspect that it is a bit of a hack, and doesn't perform well in the modern world.

Strange:
TS, TrackIR and Skype all work at the same time for me. I quite often chat On both TS and Skype to different people while flying in FSX. So it can work, it does work, but obviously in your cases there is some sort of conflict but my experience suggests that they should be a work around because I didn't do anything special to get mine to work. >buck<

I have no issues with Skype and Team Speak working together either I used to have TrackIR as well but having three screens found I don't use it now so gave it to Chris (lowglow)
Team Speak works very well for multilayer for most of us there seems to be just one or two that have problems with it and I think that the biggest trouble with those that have a problem is that they use that as an excuse because they don't like talking to their PC

I have no trouble talking to my PC, I keep up a pretty non-stop monologue all day long.

However I don't like listening to other people, so you might have something there...

P.S. This is the sort of comment which would work better in a chatbox, but not at all on Teamspeak:)

It is a bit pathetic when we only get 8 votes on an issue like this is it that members are not interested or just to lazy to tick a box?
From the 8 that did vote it is an over welling number 7 to 1 in favour of a Chatbox.

Set it up Dan and we will see how many use it

Even then I decide to go for the Yes and revoke my vote so really is 8 to 8 but in saying that same can be said for many areas on the forum.
