Resources exceeded...

Postby emfrat » Fri Mar 06, 2026 9:21 am

"Most users ever online was 6091 on Wed Mar 04, 2026 8:52 am"

No wonder us 1200 members had trouble getting in. Looking OK so far this morning.

Yeah dunno what was happening last night, picking was some crawler maybe, don't think we've had any controversial topics lately that would spawn international interest :ph43r:

Will take a look at the logs in detail. Last night I looked at the server and disk space etc was all good, database was working, the site was just offline for some reason and not responding. May have been an issue on the webhost so I'll flick them a message too

Cheers Dino - I started seeing probs on Monday - very slow login, but I got in until I tried to move to another thread, when it threw me out with a "Resources limit exceeded". Tried to login a couple more times, but "nzff. org rejected the connection" appeared after a "timed out" notice. Several attempts on Tuesday, none succesful. All the rest of my regular rounds worked OK. I thought it might be a DDoS attack on NZFF. Tried this morning and saw those traffic numbers.

I get that warning most times when I try to connect to the NZFF Site.
It's been happening for years.
No problems with all my regular Site connections.

Like Mike...
I also get the "Resources Exceeded" malarky, as well

It's a bloody conspiracy.... :ph43r: ....!

I've got used to it now!

It's one of the many perils of daily logging into NZFF... ..... ... ....!

I had massive connection problems Fri-Sat-Sun. with the 5G modem telling me there was no service. But my phone, which has its own plan from the same provider was working OK. The trouble mysteriously cleared itself around 4pm each afternoon - when the hullaballoo from the Melbourne F1 GP closed for the day. I reckon Telstra owe me a refund.

The NZFF site certificate is currently valid and secure so no idea why you guys see that error, do you see the same in all browsers? Be interested to hear which browsers on your PCs show this.

I have seen all those messages at various times, but very rarely. I use Brave, which is a Chrome clone with all the advertising rubbish blocked.
Some sites seem to measure how quickly you move between pages, and then challenge you to prove you are not a robot, becos you're too quick for them

My present Browser, for all my stuff, is my Google "Chrome" Browser
Courtesy of Mrs Microsoft
Previously, it was Mozilla Firefox... similar occasional problems connecting to NZFF... ...!

I also have the "TOR Browser" installed, but I only ever use it when in dire need to be able to "view" certain "Screenshots" posted in NZFF.

...otherwise it's always Chrome Browser..... ...!

Pau.... :uk: .....Browsing... :sleepy: .... ....!

At AEST 1612 today, I was the only member logged in but the 2459 guests were hogging all the resources - again.
And when I tried to post that, I got this:
"The method could not be performed on the resource because the server is unable to store the representation needed to successfully complete the request. There is insufficient free space left in your storage allocation.
Additionally, a 507 Insufficient Storage error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."
