Thx guys...

As per my personal philosophy, I took the day off... and despite the average weather, I managed to fly down to the Tron for a $300 coffee... only it cost more than $300... and they don't have a cafe at the aeroclub! So I had to settle for a drink from the water cooler!! hahahhaah

My pax (actually my Instructor Trevor just along for the ride, recently back from another stint in the Sudan) reckons it was actually perfect cross-country weather... nice low cloudbase (around 1500'), enough wind to make it interesting, but not enough to make it too bumpy and lots of showers to fly around (and occasionally through!)...

It certainly keeps you on your toes, and you have to make some decisions, as opposed to severe blue sky days where you just point the aircraft where you want to go...

Probably the first time I have seen:

a. A full carpark and a full flightline at AFS
b. A full flightline at CTC... they have a HUGE fleet!
c. A B1900D doing go-arounds and circuits! And I though my flight was expensive winkyy.gif

The other bonus of the marginal weather I guess... no other bugger was silly enough to be flying... pretty much had the sky to ourselves (the Tower guy at NZHN sounded REALLY REALLY bored!! hahahaha)

Also, sorry for not calling Mike! But we were only on the ground for about 20 minutes, as I had to get back to Ardmore by 1, as I had a conference call with an outfit in Hawaii at 2pm...
