Hi Guys,

Well, time really is flying, and we're almost on the home straight to Spring now! July has been a pretty busy month at NZFF, so plenty of exciting news to share with you all.

Firstly, a huge thanks is owed to Mike (Creator2003), who has generously paid for a TeamSpeak hosting, so NZFF now has its own TeamSpeak server. For more information, have a look in this thread. For those who don't yet have TeamSpeak, you can download it from here and then just connect to server 67.228.238.5:8778 . Detailed information on how to connect to TeamSpeak can be found here. It's a great way to meet others from the forum in a medium other than typing messages in the forum.

The other major news from this month was the Tauranga Meetup, which was held on Sunday 13th July at the Classic Flyers Museum in Tauranga. A great day was had by everyone that headed along, and the weather in Tauranga was great. Unfortunately, this was not the case in the Kaimai Ranges, which prevented the 'Auckland Team' from attending (however, they managed instead a scenic flight around Auckland. Pictures. Thanks go to Paul (Naki) who organised the board room at the Museum, and to Daniel who organised the 737 Simulator! It was good for people to meet up, and be able to put names to faces. Best of all - there is talk of further meetups in the not too distant future!

Now to a release that occurred at the end of June, and was subsequently missed from the June newsletter. At the end of last month, Tim (Timmo) released his 'Kiwi360' scenery for FSX. Featuring many custom buildings, and very high resolution aerial imagery, it is well worth downloading. Get it from AVSIM. Also check out some great screenshots here.

It's been another good month for New Zealand scenery releases, with Lawrie (Snowman) releasing a few more sceneries, including Oamaru, and Port Vila. Goff_NZNR released his rendition of Hastings, and Mike (Creator2003), and Jared (HardCorePawn) released an updated Motueka for FSX.

There is more exciting news for FSX users - Robin (Toprob) has released some amazing looking screenshots of his Tekapo scenery for FSX. No more words needed....let the pictures do the talking.

The bad weather this month has kept most of us simmers inside, but that has meant plenty of time for Flight Simulator, and indeed a lot of screenshots have appeared on the forums this month, co-inciding with the release of FlyTampa's latest scenery - Hong Kong Kai Tak for FS9 and FSX. There is a large showcase of images from this scenery on the forum, and it-s looking great in both simulators!

Also of worthy mention, is the rendition of Warbirds over Wanaka by Florian (Florian_S). This month, he has posted three days worth of a recreation of the Warbirds over Wanaka show, and has put a lot of effort into doing so. The results speak for themselves, and there are a fine three threads of screenshots. Great work, Florian. It's really good to see something like this! For Day One, see here.

The monthly screenshot is turning again into a hard competition. The theme this month is "A Day in the Life of...." and has attracted some interesting, and extremely original ideas. Good luck to all who have entered!

Finally this month, as you may know, Andrew has safely made it over to the UK, and you can follow his progress through his travel blog located at http://www.nzff.org/andrew .

That's all for this month...

Cheers,
Robin, Alex, and Matt.

Also I'd to thank creator 2003 (Mike) for reaching into his pocket so we could have our own server on TeamSpeak. clapping.gif
