Excellent stuff Lawrie,
I secured a slot for my son on next years Matamata Scout camp only to have him tell me he doesn't want to go. Can you believe it??????

Awesome Lawrie...Good old Matamata home of the Walsh Flying School.

Cowpatz...I think its a no brainer...that school was the beginning of a career for me! I went solo at the camp and now have over 120 hours... Its heaps fun too!

Hi Andrew,
If i can figure out a way of making a reasonable representaion of the skate bowl, or find a texture in some texture set to represent it, ...it will be there.............

Flew past Matamata earlier today, was going to do a touch and go but I was discouraged by the seemingly only partially organised chaos that was simultaneous gliding and parachuting! dry.gif

Yeah Trolly unbelieveable isn't it. Being a commercial pilot I wanted to at least offer this experience of a lifetime to all the kids as they become eligible, just to see if there is a spark of interest there or at least to help them appreciate what aviation is all about and why I have been involved in the industry ever since I left school at 16. He was interested in the flying but spat the dummy at having to dress up in "formal" attire for the evening meals as well as "only" 6 hrs flying in just under 2 weeks.....what is wrong with todays youth?
Oh well hopefully my daughter will pick up the offer for 2009.

Just wondering if anyone could explain the RWY12 side of this airfield?
Just not familiar with using the RWY12 objects.
I have downloaded everything needed (all objects listed in Readme file)
I initially had RWY12 installed on my computer when I did a Windows reinstall.
Funnily enough when I reinstalled Windows it was still there in C:\..
so not sure whether it is partially installed or what?
But then I was reading the Readme file and it said you don't actually need the RWY12 program itself just the object libraries...
So this is where I get a bit stuck - where do I move all of the downloaded objects to?
And what does it mean when it says "download, install and activate the full Runway-12 Static Objects Library" mainly install and activate...?
I have downloaded the zip files - how do I install and activate?

I've probably tried to explain all this long-windedly... but those that are familiar with this process would you be able to give me a: "RWY12 objects for Dummies" explanation?
Thanks in advance!!

If you are a FSX user i wouldnt install 2002 objects into you librarys ,,anyway if your not listening to that you make a folder called rwy12 ,in that folder you make folders scenery and texture in the addon scenery folder ..
in the scenery folder you put all the bgls etc in it and all the bmps and textures in the texture folder and then activate the folder rwy12 in the scenery library manager ... thats it ...
all other addon like this one you put in there own folders ie matamata and they will find the rwy12 objects use by that scenery by its self ...
honest be warned ,,like i said i wouldnt use those objects in FSX if you dont know what you are doing ,,best just to not get yourself into that stuff, u risk having problems no matter what others say about it all ..

Hmmm,........ Matamata,.......... one of my older sceneries. I havnt used Runway-12 Object sets for a very long time..............
You DONT need the Runway-12 Object Placer program,........... thats whats in your C/.......
The object sets themselves go in a folder called Static Objects Library in the FS9 / Addon Scenery folder.
You will find the 3 main object sets here at avsim.com...................

http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=71795

http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=71797

http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=71798

You will find all the other various standalone Rwy-12 Object Libraries here...................

http://library.avsim.net/search.php?CatID=...;Go=Change+View

There are 7 pages of them,......... scroll through the pages to find what object sets you need................

Also, apparently Rwy-12 does work in FSX,.............i never would have thought it would untill i read this on the official Rwy-12 site just now...................
