Hi Charl.
From top to bottom pics....................

Lockheed L-188 Electra (flown to Aussie on one of those a couple of times when younger)

Douglas DC-6 (Before my time)

Short Solent S4 (before my time)

Sorry, Air NZ or TEAL never had the Vickers Vanguard.
NAC had its smaller and slightly older brother, the Viscount. ( been on lots of those).

Not a spot of rust on any of them, and perfect Wellington weather!

How come you don't remember the Solent Lawrie.Oooops,am I showing my age here.I can still remember them taking off,we didn't have the harbour bridge then.I remember the Sunderlands also,man they were great to see thats for sure.I can still remember the roar of the engines and I must of been about 3 or 4 then.

No Rust , no Dust, all stored in a sealed environment Matt, just waiting for the day someone would bring them out into the light of day and pay them some loving attention........................ :lol:
Yep, i did have rose coloured glasses on that day MAtt, ..... i was in a happy mood, and didnt feel like having it ruined by a gloomy welly day...............

Regardless of the weather or the colour of the glasses they all look really cool mate :D

Just a shame i didnt think to set up a proper photo session, complete with AI aircraft of the period as well. Once again, i was actually doing something else, when i got sidetracked with this thought....................
