That seems to be your favourite word Charl, "orrible ERM",...."orrible RWY-12", what next for the "orrible" ?
Yes Charl, its done with your worst "orrible" nightmare....................
Dunno why you seem to have had so much trouble with it in the past. I never have had a problem with it..........................

Lawrie.

There have been plenty of 'orrible things in FS.
Anything that doesn't match the latest standard of addon or upgrade is 'orrible.
This is not a negative thing, it inspires less 'orribleness and that way you get progress.
My ultimate 'orrible was the payware LAGO FSE experience. Can't beat it for obfuscation (nice word, that, almost as hefty as 'orrible). I particularly enjoyed the fact that, to register for downloads, you first had to upload something.
Picture the array of small red boxes labelled "test" in their library...
I made a few Mickey Mouse objects and soon realised there was room for dedicated scenery designers in this game.
Unfortunately many did not, and the proliferation of little red boxes, sometimes .000005x scale, labelled "my house" or "hanger" soon drove me to abandon the whole thing as totally 'orrible.

But to get back to the point, I did think your bit of scenery was Not Too 'orrible.
What do they keep in that little shed?

Ooh nice idea!

I really want to fly one of those CV's out to the Chathams, and would love some improved scenery when I get there.

P.S. Does anyone know of any photos of the Chatam Islands airport?

I've got a magazine, that I bought a while back, that has the main article on Air Chathams and has some shots of the airport. Also google earth has the airport in it's coverage just

I'm not sure if I could get the images posted up, though, as I don't have a scanner but may be able to find someone who has one I can use (I mean family wise)

My uncle used to be a pilot for Air Chatmans!

He took my Nan out there a couple of times so if I can get my Mum to get my Nan to send the photos she took to my Mum, she could scan them onto her computer, and could send then to me, and I could upload them here.

Make sense?

The Convair 580 is an FS2002 model by Greg Pepper, and the Air Chathams paintjob was Jon Murchisons work.
filename.............. Air Chathams CV-580.zip (model and paint together).
Unfortunately, i dont remember where i got it from. I have had it for a number of years.
The scenery was one i was playing around with myself, and have since done a much better one than the one in the pics.

EDIT................ On thinking about it, i may have gotten the CV-580 from Jon Murchisons's site ARNZ.

If you want you can get my scenery for NZCI

nzci.zip

on Avsim

Not the best but (a bit basic) but it has the feel of this barren airport.

It has mainly custom objects

Kelburn is right. i tried his scenery, and it does capture the desolate and barren feel of the airfield very nicely.
I removed the exclude file from my scenery, so that the trees would show again.
I just couldnt live without the greenery................. laugh.gif
Heres some pics of another old-timer from a bygone era at NZCI...........................
