Cool pics Natas, I used to strip those engines down when I worked at Aeromotive at Hamilton Airport. 8 cyl horizontally opposed. I remember the size of the cyliders and valves compared to my 350 chev. They are just massive. Heaps of grunt which is why they can quite safley do steep turns close to the ground!
I also remember going with a school trip to Pacific Aerospace and getting a guided tour of the fletchers being made and the Huey's and Strikemasters being overhauled. >nzflag<

Thanks trolley - great pics. I have not done anymore work on the Fletcher since before Xmas as I have been busy with painting the house and enjoying the summer (what summer!!) weather as much as possible.
Once I am close to releasing you can be sure to be called up as a tester.

Cheers

Deane

Howdy All,
It's funny you should have those photo's from thames Trolly, Cause im Actually trying to find some photo's Of any Thames Aerial topdressing/FeildAir holdings Ltd Fletchers so I can do a couple of repaints Seeing that's where im origanally from and having had my father work for the Companies till they folded basically. Being very lucky to have had so many flights in the fletcher and even a play with the stick by one of the older pilots as a kid and seeing that Deane has made such a wonderfull model that has rekindelled youthfull times and memories. The only funny thing that you cant really capture is the excruciating loudness and roar of the engines when taking off. I remember having the Ba/jesus scared out of me the first time i ever took of in one.
Any one know where I could get some snap's?
Have got my father trying to find some from pilots, old workers and advertising shots..
Cheers B-)
